Riverview Baptist Church
Riverview Baptist Church will have a singing on Friday, March 18, beginning with free coffee and doughnuts at 6 p.m. following by music starting at 7 p.m. Already on the program are Robert Parker and Glory Bound (Crossroads and Old Time Gospel Baptist Church), Chester and Willis Suggs from Northport Baptist Church, Rick Foust, Dean Cogdill, Christie and Joseph Capaleo, Grateful Hearts (Point Pleasant and New Home Baptist Churches), the Ellison Family, Judy Holt and Country Crossroads, The Centerview Ladies Quartet, Eleana Barnett and Carolyn Moorefield from Clay Creek Baptist Church, The Ellison Family, and The Basinger Gospel Choir. Riverview Baptist Church is located on River Street (behind ConAgra) in downtown Newport. The church’s new piano, given in memory of Mary Lynn Ellison, will be dedicated. All are invited.

Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church
Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 225 White Oak Avenue, will present “The Upper Room” by Evelyn Kyle on Saturday, March 19, at 6 p.m. This is a three-act play about the Biblical characters’ reactions after Christ’s crucifixion. Cast members include Brenda Gibson (Salome), Sherry Carr (JoAnna), Phyllis Ramsey (Martha), Carrie Ramsey (Mary, Mother of Jesus), Betty Gudger (Mother of James and John), Mary Magdalene (Gail Woods), John (Rant Gibson), Simon (Kim Belton), James (Gary Woods), Thomas (Edward Singleton), Peter (Jesse Ramsey), Nicodemus (Roger Ramsey, Sr.), and Matthew (Roger Ramsey, Jr.). Easter Sunrise Service
Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Hwy. 25/70 at Cocke-Jefferson County line, will host their 51st annual Easter Sunrise Service on Sunday, March 27, at 7 a.m. in front of the Chapel Mausoleum. Everyone is invited.

Holder’s Grove Missionary Baptist Church
Holder’s Grove Missionary Baptist Church will hold an Easter Sunrise Service on Sunday, March 27, at 7:30 a.m. at the Waters-Large Cemetery in Cosby. Rev. Randall Freeman and church members invite all to attend.

New Zion AME Zion Church
New Zion AME Zion Church will celebrate Family and Friends Day on Sunday, March 20, at 3:00 p.m. with guest speaker Deacon Rodney Stewart of Rock of Ages Baptist Church in Morristown as guest speaker. Rev. Rosie Cuberson and the trustee board invite all to attend.

Barnes Valley Baptist Church, Hartford, will welcome The Parton Family from Sevierville for a singing at the church on Sunday, March 27, at 7 p.m. Everyone is invited to both events.

Mulberry Gap United Methodist Church
Mulberry Gap United Methodist Church, 1600 Blue Mill Road, Del Rio, will have an Easter sunrise service on Sunday, March 27 at 7 a.m. followed by morning worship at 9:45 a.m. Sunday school starts at 11 a.m. Refreshments will be served at noon. In the afternoon, the presentation of Resurrection eggs will be held, along with an Easter egg hunt and crafts. Rev. Charlie Williams and congregation invite everyone to attend.

The Russell Family from Blount County will provide special music at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Cosby Cut-off Rd., on Sunday, March 20, at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Robert Williamson and congregation invite all to attend.

Newport Seventh-day Adventist Church
All are invited to Newport Seventh-day Adventist Church, 125 Hedrick Dr., across from Cocke County High School, on Saturday, March 19, at 6 p.m. for a musical vespers service, followed by another in the series “Unlocking Revelation’s Hope,” at 7 p.m.

Piney Grove Baptist Church
Piney Grove Baptist Church, Del Rio, invites all to their special Easter services, including Communion in remembrance of The Lord’s Supper on Friday, March 25, at 7 p.m. On Sunday, March 27, at 7 a.m., there will be an Easter Sunrise service in the church cemetery followed by the regular morning worship service at 9:30 a.m. On Sunday night, at 6 p.m., there will be a special service of Scripture, music, and a short skit by the children to celebrate the Lord’s Resurrection. Lee Valley Music Barn
Lee Valley Music Barn, 500 Lee Valley Rd., Whitesburg, continues its first Friday gospel music concert series on April 1 at 7 p.m. with Shepard’s Way Gospel Quartet of Oneida as featured singers. Prayer Meetings at the Courthouse

Any church-sponsored yard sale announcements must go through the classified advertising department, and a paid ad must be purchased in order for the yard sale notice to be published in church news.
